Fuel shut-off stop cock

Was a fuel shut-off stop cock a standard item at any time during production?
If so, where was it positioned on the fuel line.

As far as I am aware all gpa,s had a stop cock located screwed into the outlet of the fuel tank,(gas tank).Rick
