Emergency Brake

Post by Donovan » Sat May 14, 2011 4:30 pm

I am having problems with the emergency brake not releasing properly. I am trying to understand where the spring attaches to the GPA body. If it is the tab with the hole in it on the prop tunnel then the spring would rest on the tunnel which does not seem correct.

A few other issues I am trying to resolve:

1) Wing nuts for engine hood hold down. Are the wing nuts the same as used on the GPW for head light hold downs? If not, what do you use? Modern day wingnuts are not the same.
2) The voltmeter. Where does the wire hook to the body from the voltmeter switch in order to give a reading?
3) Am I correct with the engine off and the headlights on, the ammeter should deflect to the negative side indicating a discharge is occurring?
4) am still unclear whether the fasteners for the floorboards (underneath driver and passengers feet) are binding head screws or F-script bolts. The parts manual indicates screws but everyone seems to indicate bolts. What is the correct answer?

Thanks,

Donovan.
