Modified Hubs?

Post by storchski » Sun Apr 19, 2009 10:50 am

Hello Everyone,

Can someone tell me if my hubs have been modified, and which one is the correct one? The Maintenance Manual shows a cross sectional of both and there is a slight differance that I can see but not this severe? What makes me think there is something odd is that the seal would sit further away not close to the bearing as the manual shows. There also was some signifcant wear on one of my brake backing plates. The part # on all hubs is - GP 1125 even though the parts book shows GP 1102 and GP 1103.

Nathan,

The top one looks correct but I cannot check since all of my axles are put together. I checked the Ford Master Parts list and there is no part no. GP 1125 or any other 1125 part number. You are correct that GP 1102 and GP 1103 are correct for the GPA and I believe are the same as used on the GPW.

Thanks Donovan,

I'll have to try and see if it comes off! The former owner can vagely remember some sort of mod being done but can't remember which seal or area.

Anyone got some photo's of their hubs that I can compare to and maybe if there hubs are stamped with which number?
