On a side note, Tony C came over to my house this weekend to among other things inspire me to complete GPA 5510. Tony noticed that the left propeller shaft support bracket on the inside of the propeller tunnel is welded around the edge whereas the right bracket is not welded around the edge. John's pictures on this post show the same thing. I assumed that mine was done sometime after it left the factory. John, do you know if your welder did this or if this is a factory weld?

Steve, The pics of the tunnel are of Tony's GPA. I think I see the weld you are talking about, but will have to look at mine to see if it has a similar weld. You are talking about 2 support brackets on top of the tunnel to which the prop shaft supports attach? John

Steve,

I checked my GPA today (while I was working on it) for any welds on the support brackets for the propellor and found none. So this must have been done afterwards. I would have thought that if there was a repair on all GPAs that there would have been a Field Modification notice.

Good luck,

Donovan.

Checked mine today and it has 2 small tack welds at each end of each bracket. John
