Cable for GPA anchor

Post by dmolasov » Fri Sep 19, 2008 3:08 pm

The GPA operators manual indicates that the anchor was equipped with "6 ft.-1/4" Cable, attached". I presume this means that 1/4" wire cable (not chain) was attached to the anchor by a shackle going through a thimble on the cable. In that case there would have been another thimble at the other end to attach the 100' manila anchor rode by bowline or anchor bend knot. Perhaps the manual's description was inaccurate, however, and chain was used. Does anyone have a photo of original configuration or other documentation to show what would be "correct".

Thanks for any insight.
