Hi if you need a new fan belt I took a gates B41, it fits great at my GPA.
I tried B40 = just to short B 42 not much adjustment left B 43 = the size in the manual no adjustment left [ it also the belt size in the RS belt set , it can take you home ].

This is an intresting find.

The B43 in my belt set was matched of an original NOS belt.

I will check the remaining ajust ment on my GPA as I am just about to fit
the generator.

Best regards

Hi,
I have now fitted my generator and fitted the B43 vbelt.
On mine it ajusts up with out a problem. Yes there is not a lot of ajustment left but enough.
One of the problems you could be encountering is warn pulleys on the engine water pump and generator.
If pressed steel they do spread with use.
My GPA is fitted with all new pulleys and this can make a big differance as ware on all 3 pulleys must be taken up with the ajustment.
The reason I feel a B43 was used is it already was in use on the Ford GP.
A B41 is used on the GPW and MB to creat yet another stock item would not have been appealing to Ford when the B43 would do the job and were on hand.
Certainly if you do not want to cahnge all your pulleys and the B42 fits OK I would use it.
Just be aware if the generator pulley is badly warn it will tend to ware the belts out quickly.

Best regards
Richard Sanders
