Electric bilge pump

Hello Jerome Yes it is an extra electric bilge pump. You know our toys are very expensive so I don't want to take any risk. If your engine fails when you're on the water and you have a leak you're deep in trouble!! So I installed an extra pump with clamps on the chassis(no drilling). And in ...

Developments of GPA 4928

Hello to you all! I'm happy that there is some movement again in the restauration of GPA 4928. On a very cold sunday morning I made myself a promise that I would install the transmission and transfer-case. I lifted the heavy iron piece and hurt my back so seriously that I wasn't able to do anything ...

questions

Hello Carl Yes they are radio brackets. Allso a modification on the later vehicles like the hook on the dash. Early GPA's didn't have those brackets and microphone-hook on the dash. Jan Roelse here in Holland driving & sailing gpa for more than 30 years, (Now very busy working on his new shed) has a...

Some interesting picts & details

Hello to you all A GPA is a wonderfull vehicle to drive & sail in but what a hell to work on!! You need four hands and arms of two meters. Only today I jumped at least 150 times in and out the hull. Rudder and propeller shaft , brake system, rear axle propeller shaft, both axles & wheels and...

Dash

Yes Mithril that's the plate I'm talking about. Robert is working to make a perfect copy of this one. I now have a flat foto copy of this plate and I'm waiting to get the right model of it. I'm just curious about the date and chassis nbr when Ford changed this plate. I know that all GPA's that staye...

Original dash

Hello Mithril & Dominique I'm pretty sure that the Ford GPA used the same instruments as the Ford GPW and made changes at the same date as the normal jeeps. You can read in the book of Lawrence Nabholtz (a very good book by the way!). On the contract Ford-F-4 may '43 you still can see the speedo...

Return of the pink panther

Today I received the seccond part of the sandblasted parts. The sandblasting company used the same "epoxi primer" only now a pink collour! I used a pair of extra hands of a friend of mine to secure the chassis in the hull. This is not a pleasant job to do with all the rubbers seals between...

Generator problems

Tony
A friend of mine has a good idea!!
Pharhaps you can bring some spacers between the generator bracket with the two bolts and the engine block.
Then you have more room for ajustment.

Greetings Bob

Generator problems

Hello Tony I don't see things wrong on your engine or mountings. On my engine I used the original fan belt ;gpa 45,46 in. and not a gpw type 44,1/8 in. I have a clearance from +/- 1 cm from the oil dipstick and 1 cm from the engine mounting.(Indeed not much clearance pharhaps you have used the copy ...
