Tony,

You are correct in that I am almost finished. I need to do the following:

1) Water test the vehicle (it is all buttoned up and ready to test on the water).
2) I need to have it painted one more time to get all the scrapes, nicks, and spot welding done after it was initially painted along with the decals and reg. number.
3) I need a spare tire (rim ordered from Ron and I already have tire and tube).
4) Need a gas can mount with GPA support.
5) Need an anchor.
6) Need to create the rope bumpers. Do you have the page from the DUKW manual that describes how to make them?
7) Need to mount the compass (I have both Hull and Pioneer that was used on the DUKWs). I know a Pioneer was not used but think it would look nicer.

I have been running around locally making sure the drive train and mechanics work and got a weird noise. I thought it was the drive line. Welder mechanic thought it was the clutch and apprentice thought it was a generator brush. I inspected beneath the vehicle and saw nothing. I put the vehicle on jacks (with the inspection plate open to the clutch) and ran the engine and drive train and no noise. I need to take it for another spin and make sure everything is AOK.

One more thing I need to do is make a Display Board. Basically a general discussion of a GPA that I can print poster size that people can read when they come up to the vehicle. Any suggestions anyone. I am planning to write this but if someone has put something together I would like to see what they have done and add my own thoughts.

Pictures soon.

Donovan.
