Bonjour,
I'm Dominique Cordonnier from South of France (Argelès-sur-mer) on the Mediterranean coast near Spain.
Jeeps have been my passion since a child and to own a GPA is, as we say in France, "the cherry on the cake".
I bought GPA3052 in 2003 from Len Hollingsbee in England who himself had driven GPAs in Egypt in 1947.
Len had his GPA since 2000 and it had come from India.
After three months of continuous restoration, Len had done a very good job on it, but some parts were not quite close to its origin and he had no intention of making it swim.
Now since September, I have stripped her again and have started restoring different elements (backframe, side ventilation pannels and rods, seals, etc...)
A special thanks to Bob Asselburg's precious advice and parts and his many Dutch friends who made it possible for me to fulfill this task.
Hopefully, the restoration will be completed for spring 2006 and maybe for Amphib Meeting in Italy this coming July.
Dominique.
