Hi David,

According to my info this is the price.
Greets, Bob

April 11, 1942 Ford received letter contract from Government (W-398-QM-12937) to build 5,000 amphibians under an “upset” of $2,000,000 (“upset” meant that this was the total amount allowable Ford if, after work on the vehicles was begun, the Government should decide not to carry out the contract. Government would forfeit to Ford that amount if, after contract is let, it failed to take all units ordered).

The first contract; September 20, 1942
Issue date Maintenance Manual for Ford Amphibian, ¼-Ton 4x4, built for U.S. Government TM-10-1263 , Contract Number W-398-QM-12937, USA 702104-709999 and 7010000-7012103- Inc.(5,000) ( according to me: 702104 - 707103 = 5000 )
Ford GPA 12350, april 4th 1943
Author of GPA book,
Willys MD M38A1, A13817 1952
