Sparewheelholder bracket

Post by Patrick » Tue Nov 25, 2008 8:03 am

Hello all,

Is it possible to send me pictures of the spareholder from the side please.
Is it possible that was 2 models (early and late )?
I see one with the 2 side identical and one with one side higher and one side lower.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards Patrick.

Patrick,

I am curious who is selling the bad copies? I had an original set that was used on mine but I believe Dennis Francis used it for a pattern to make for others? Are these the ones you are referring to? His reproducitons are usually very accurate.

Hi Tony,

It is a person in Luxemburg hou have somthing like a spareholder.
To be shure if it's O.K., i need photos to see an Original.
I never see one to compare, because the sparewheel is on it.
But is it not a good bracket it is nothing for GPA or Jeep.

So when you have a photo from an original one please sen to my E-Mail.

Best regards, Patrick

That doesn't look too difficult to repro. Another was posted here or on G503 that showed curved shapes that looked much harder to duplicate. Was there an early and late version of the spare tire holder? David

I am not sure about a early and late one but I do know that very early GPA's did not have the two support brackets under this panel.

Thanks for posting this David. The dimensions should be easily enough determined by ratio relative to the existing mounting holes on the deck coupled with the wheel rim bead edges.
Is the top one a repro? David Ursin
