radiator shroud

Post by Rick » Mon Mar 05, 2007 10:06 am

I have been down in the shed tonight fitting a gpa 6 blade fan which I have recently aquired and was surprised with the limited clearance between the fan and the shroud. There is about a 5/16 in at the bottom and 3/16 in at the top.Does this sound right.?It seems to work fine but I am concerned about the amount of travel the engine might need.
Any thoughts?

Rick seems to be ok I don't have a lot off space there.
if your engine mounts are new it should be ok.

Thanks Peter
I have been able to gain a little more clearance as i found the shroud was not perfectly round.I think it is about 3/8 in or a little more now and I have adjusted the radiator position a little.

Hi Rick,

i also had the same problem !

But i made some filling plates of 2 mm to raise the engine a little bit, so the fan is just in the center of the shroud.

Good luck,
Glenn
