Removing Propeller

Post by GPA2196 » Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:17 pm

Hey guys,

I just cut the tunnel out of one of my scrap hulls. It still has the propeller, propeller shaft, and dogbone shaft, I took the castle nut off the end of the shaft where the propeller is, should the propeller just come off? I know there is a woodruff key in there to stop the prop from spinning on the shaft but should I be able to just tap it off? I don't want to hit it too hard since the propeller is perfect without any dings... Its nice and smooth.

Additionally anyone know what a GPA properller is worth? I was also able to save the tunnel and got it out in one piece... it looks pretty good... Any idea what this may be worth? Or does anybody need one?

Tony,

With some deblock oil (WD40) and patience it must come off.
Don't know the value of the items you offer, but I'm sure you can make someone happy with them! :D
