Richard,
Your work looks great!
You may find it easier in the long run to create a rotisserie that will permit you to rotate the body and have it fixed at a certain angle. It is the first thing I had my welder do and it has come in very handy.
Good luck,
Donovan.

Re: Modified Hubs?
Nathan, The top one looks correct but I cannot check since all of my axles are put together. I checked the Ford Master Parts list and there is no part no. GP 1125 or any other 1125 part number. You are correct that GP 1102 and GP 1103 are correct for the GPA and I believe are the same as used on the...

Re: GPA Mysterious Water
Everyone, When I restored my bilge valve I noticed that there was a small hole on the bottom side of the valve. My thought was always that this was put there to keep water from accumulating in the pipes. When I restored the valve, this small hole was packed with crud/debris and was probably very sus...

Re: Chassis Questions
David, Actually many parts interchange with the GPW, however there may be subtle differences in add-ons. The Block is the same, Manifold can be used if it has a vacuum port. Front axle is the same except the knuckle and wheel bearing seals are different Transfercase is the same except for the front ...

Re: Steering Wheel Rod/Steering box
Storchski, The steering column shaft is one piece and is the same as a GPW except the where the horn wire connects/touches the shaft. The location is different to account for the steering spool for the rudder cable. I hope this makes sense. My coumn is all together or I would send a picture of the s...

Re: electrical connectors
Russ,
I am not sure if these are the same as a GPW connector. But you might try Darcy Miller or Vintage Wiring of Maine since they both make wiring looms for GPA.
Good luck,
Donovan.

GPA2077,
Do you mean the ones on the housing or the ones on the wiring loom beneath the deck?

Re: Wanted:weld-on spring pads & PTO levers
Tony,
Thanks but I already have the axle and I am trying to restore it back to its original state (it was converted to use on a MB/GPW). This is for a backup as my original axle has already been restored.

Wanted:weld-on spring pads & PTO levers
Everyone, I am trying to restore a PTO and rear axle. First, the axle. I need a source for the the weld-on spring pads that have the shock mount pin. Anybody know if this was used on other jeeps or vehicles and if it is available somewhere? Second, I am looking for the PTO levers. Any know of a sour...

David,
Looking at your pictures I was trying to tell if you replaced the bump rail or put the replacement rail on top of it and welded it on. Everything looks good and I hope you finish it soon. I am still months away from completing my hull.

Re: Radiator Drain
Steve, I checked my GPA today (while I was working on it) for any welds on the support brackets for the propellor and found none. So this must have been done afterwards. I would have thought that if there was a repair on all GPAs that there would have been a Field Modification notice. Good luck, Don...

Re: Some more progress on GPA #8787
Leo, It looks great. I think I am going to assemble mine the same way in that I will install engine, trans, and transfer case after axles are on. I am like David in that I am a far cry from starting assembly. I am still refining some of the components so that I do not have to worry later on. Good wo...
