Re: Bilge Pump Pulley Adjustment

Thanks for the photo David. You can see what I mean, what is the purpose of the slot/keyway in the pump shaft, on the right in the photo? You would imagine it should line up with the slot in the pulley hub but it is 180 degrees out. I am sure the answer is obvious but I can't see it.

Bilge Pump Pulley Adjustment

Hi Guys, Anyone know the answer to this one? If the adjustable pulley is put on the pump shaft as shown in th manual with the rotating flange outwards, the slot in the fixed part of the pulley is 80 degrees away fron the the larger slot in the pump shaft. You would assume that the two should be in l...

Re: What too pay for a GPA?

Hi Nathan, There are several factors involved; condition, location and how many people are looking at the time. If there are 2 or more `money no object' buyers in competion the sky is the limit. However, GPAs are definately a sellers market and will always command a good price. Serious buyers will t...

Re: Looking for correct USA number

Hi Robert, My guess is that the Scottish GPAs would have been in British Service and bought at a disposal sale in the UK. The British had a contract for around 300 GPAs, Ian Grieve can tell you the actual number supplied and possibly the frame numbers. My `good' GPA, frame number 5386 dod 5th Jan 19...

Re: GPA Drive Shaft Tunnel Wanted

Hi Jan,
Jaap reitveld had one at Beltring a few years back, it might be worth asking him if he still has it, other than that I dont think they are a difficult part to make.

GPAs on Rouge River

Hi Guys, Happy new Year to everyone. Have a look at m This is a photo from Joseph Cabadas's book on the Rouge River Ford Plant where the GPAs were made. It shows 11 GPAs on the Rouge River, the caption states the date is 12th March 1943. If they are early production GPAs on test as the text claims t...

Hi Guys,
Just back from India. I left my filler neck with a guy to get some copies made, he does not think it will be that easy and I have insisted on exact replicas. I will be back in February to see what progress has been made.

Hi Guys I was leaving a show early this year in my GPA and two guys stopped me and said they had a company supplying vehicles for film work and needed a GPA. They mentioned a new Indiana Jones film and said they were paying 1000 Pounds a day! I said I was not interested and they asked why so I told ...

Fuel Filler Neck

Good Afternoon Gentlemen, Here are a couple of pictures of the fuel filler neck from my `Good GPA'. Does it look correct to you? It looks a bit bright and shiney to me to be original. I need one for my project GPA so if it is right I will have it copied. That is unless someone has a shed full of the...

Are you talking about the winch cable guide or the towing eye in the centre of the front bow? I have had the 3 winch cable guides (Front & 2 rear quarters) cast in India in cast iron. I have no spares at the moment, Richard Sanders had the last ones, but I am off to India on 5th November and cou...

Yes it was great in spite of the weather, many thanks to Eric and his helpers. I am only sorry we could only get the DUKW there and the GPA had to stay at home. Next year Germany!
