Need Bolt size
Everyone, I am in the final stages of planning for my marrying of the tub, axles and frame and cannot seem to find the bolt size for the front gussets that hold the frame to the body. I would measure directly but the tub and frame are at the painters under lock and key and I cannot measure. I have l...

Re: Looking for USA number
Roberty, I have an Excel Spreadsheet with a range of reportedly appropriate registration numbers for various vehicle numbers. I cannot say how accurate it is but is based on the best available data I have. I would be glad to send to you. If you are interested e-mail me at mkdonovan@roadrunner.com Do...

Re: Upper Side Ribbing (maybe for sale)
David, Yes, the difference is in my vehicle 11374. I cannot say I looked for the difference in other vehicles but you can tell that the lower ribs were deeper and more pronounced and then lessen as you get to the top ribbing. It is the same on both sides. My welder/machinist indicated that he was un...

Re: Progress of 5294
John,
You have come a long way. I am almost at your point and will be curious how long it will take to assemble the GPA. Keep us apprised of your progress and if you hit any snags.
Good luck,
Donovan.

Upper Side Ribbing (maybe for sale)
Everyone, As part of my restoration, I have had to recreate the upper side ribbing. We have noticed that the upper ribbing is slightly different than the lower ribbing (not as deep). We do not know if this is the same on all GPAs or just the late ones (that mine is). Anyways, if there is interest I ...

Re: Advice needed
David,
I think I have an extra floorboard (minus the doors) that could be of use. I just checked it and it appeared to be field modified like yours but not as severe. E-mail me at mkdonovan@roadrunner.com and I can send some pictures.

Re: Progress of GPA #8787
Leo,
Great job. I know it will feel fantastic when the axles are mounted. Please let us know if you have any difficulties so the rest of us do not make the same mistakes when we go to assemble our GPAs.

Re: rope block
Peter/Leo,
I have the same type of snatch block as Leo with the letter 8 on both sides and what appears to be the outline of a capstan winch opposite of the number 8. I can try and post a picture later this weekend.

Need info on Captive Nuts
Everyone, I am restoring portions of the top rail and gunnel but have run into a few problems. I am trying to determine where all the captive nuts were placed on the top rail for the decking, supports and accessories and what the size was. Since some of the railing was shot or slightly modified by p...

Update on 11374
Everyone, The bottom is finished however now working on the gunnel. We had to fabricate new side and corner rails and hope to install soon. Re: Up Date on GPA 9398
Richard, Yes, obviously you needed to finish the rear end first before considering the rotisserie. You discovered the shrinker/expander. My welder showed me this some time ago and it was remarkable. I have also learned that many points on the hull with curves on the GPA can only be recreated using m...
