Re: GPA query.

Saulat,
Not sure what you are asking for in your request. Are you looking for the front and middle bilge pipes and the special brake line tee. I think the tee is the same as what is on a GPW or MB. Just don't remember.

Re: Maintenance manual variations

Hi Bob, Thank you for the information. I did not realize there were so many variations of the parts manual. I have a both the GPA parts manual and a Ford Master parts manual. The one thing I noticed about the Master Parts manual (at least the version I have) is that it would sometimes would provide ...

Maintenance manual variations

I was lucky enough to take my vehicle to a car show that ended up with an attendee giving me a GPA maintenance manual dated 1942. I know, very lucky! Years ago I bought a copy of a GPA maintenance manual from portrayal press that was dated 1943. How many versions of the manual did they make and is o...

GPA fuel sending unit size

Everyone, I am trying to see if I can correct my not too accurate fuel sending unit and I am trying to replace it. I have found two, one has a 5-1/2 inch maximum depth (which I think is too short) and the other has about 11 inch maximum depth which may be too long because of the distance to the fron...

Re: Crossmember wanted for GPA frame

Jan, If you are unsuccessful in finding an original crossmember, it may be possible to take a jeep crossmember and just lengthen it as the transmission and TC mount holes will have to be the same as an MB or GPW. I think the frame on a GPA is 7 inches wider than on a GPW. This is based on the measur...

Re: Merry Christmas and good 2017!

Bob, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Seriously thinking of coming over to England for the 2017 meeting (me, not the vehicle). It would be great to finally meet some of the fellow GPAs I have communicated with over the years! I hope 2017 is a great year for you! Best regards, Donovan.

Re: Restoration from GPA 7023

Wibo, Sorry to see what you are seeing in your just acquired GPA. This GPA body was either never restored or done a long time ago. The holes and rusted out portions are all typical of a GPA. My suggestion is to go through everything and fix/restore now. The body obviously but I would go through the ...

Re: Amphib international Netherlands 2015

Bob, As always, your pictures and commentary are excellent. A big thank you. Someday I will come over and visit during one of these events. It looks like so much fun I wish we had something in the U.S. that was comparable. Alas, I think we are too spread out to try and attempt here. Again a big than...

Re: removing rudder

Vett68 The rudder is held in by the bolt-pin at the top. Remove the nut, knock the bolt out and the top of the steering mechanism should lift off the rudder shaft. Loosen the packing assembly and the rudder should drop out the bottom of the rear tunnel. If the upper body support frame is twisted, it...

Need some pictures of the parking brake hookup

Everyone, I am looking for some pictures of the cable to external parking brake hookup at the transfer case. It seems the arm is hitting the rear tunnel and I would like to see what other people have done to prevent this. I would also like to see a picture of the pivot bracket for the clutch that bo...

Was there ever a single page GPA lube chart

I am curious, was there ever a single page colored lube chart that was included with the GPA separate from the manuals? I have never seen one or seen one mentioned here or at G503. I have seen them for GPW/MB and DUKW, but not for GPA.
Thanks,
Donovan

Re: Location of GPA panel F scripts

David, As I recall, not all of the panels had an F-script on them. It was only those items that may have been used on the GPW. For instance, the seat back probably was the same as a GPW but the rest of the seat was not. So trying to find F-script on all GPA parts will be a fruitless search. There wa...
